Letting Go Video Tip: Shake It Off!
In a world filled with stress, it is challenging not to take on anxiety, stress and overwhelm, which trigger feelings of guilt and shame in us. My “Letting Go” tip is based upon principles of somatic psychology which posits that we store our unprocessed feelings in our bodies, often as chronic muscle tension. Can you relate?
This tip describes a technique to let go based upon how it’s done in the animal kingdom. When a lion attacks a herd of wildebeests, those that survive simply get up and “shake it off.” That clears their neurology and they move on to whatever is next. I describe this in more depth in the video.
As always, I look forward to your comments. Please share this with those you care about that would benefit.
Warmly,
Dr. Adam Sheck
Dear Adam,
I’m delighted that you agree with releasing stress and letting it go by shaking it off. I do this every morning before my sun salutation and will have clients who appear to be overly stressed shake it off and let it go before our session begins. You can witness an immediate shift in their energy which enables them to clear the mind clutter and focus on their goal.
Happy Holidays, Sharon Glembocki
Thanks Sharon, I appreciate your thoughts on this for sure. It’s neuropsychologically sound as well as consistent with Kundalini yoga. Have a great holiday!
Adam
